Vitamin D during the first 1000 days

 

Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system in children. It is essential for absorbing calcium and phosphate to enable the normal growth, development and maintenance of bones. This module will explore the importance of vitamin D intake during the first 1000 days of life, which starts from conception through to a child’s second birthday.
